Canoeing across Chichester Harbour

Last Saturday, Cobnor Activities Centre provided an afternoon of open canoeing for a group of outdoor activity enthusiasts. This formed the second leg of an XXXathlon  ̶  A 30th Birthday celebration for Alice Hues.

The day started with a gruelling 125 km cycle ride from London to Itchenor, where Cobnor Activities Centre Staff were waiting with a fleet of open canoes and the trusty Cobnor Chair Boat.

After a safety briefing, the group set off with the wind and tide across Chichester Harbour towards Dell Quay. They set an impressive pace as sights were set on cider at the Crown & Anchor. Despite the odd jellyfish fight and a few near sinks, they completed the journey in around 40 minutes and were supping their rewards in no time.

The third leg of the XXX was completed on Sunday with challenges followed by lunch at Stocker Sands.

“Thanks for a great adventure on Saturday. Canoeing to Dell Quay was a fun end to a great day! I can’t imagine a better place to be in the world than Chichester Harbour in the sunshine! Thoroughly recommended to all!” Alice Hues.
