Cobnor Activities Centre staff take on End to End Challenge
March 12th, 2010
On the 29th August 2009, three of Britain’s toughest men embarked on a mission – to conquer the country by cycling its entire length, John O’Groats to Lands End, in just 13 days.
At 5.20pm on Friday 11th September they arrived at Lands End where the earth dips into the ocean and they could cycle no further. With legs of steel, veins pumping with energising glucose and the warmth of victory in their hearts they celebrated as the setting sun dipped below the Atlantic horizon.
Covering a distance of 936 miles across glorious British towns and countryside, in the name of charity and triumph, Richard Farren, Tom Dynes and Adam Sennitt have raised over £3,500 for Everyman – Action Against Male Cancer and a fantastic £1,439 for The Friends of Cobnor, which supports Cobnor Activities Centre.
Here’s the boys’ actual recorded track of their challenge:
Day 1 – Sunday 30th August – John O’Groats to Dornoch – 79.74m
Day 2 – Monday 31st August – Dornoch to Fort Augustus – 76.67m

A big well done and thank you to all three of you for completing the challenge, raising money to help The Friends of Cobnor and giving Cobnor Activities Centre’s staff a jolly good name in terms of cycling skills, stamina and sheer determination. Here’s a few more of our favourite photos from their adventure:

What a tremendous achievement boys well done!!
I think the centre should name the boiler room of the new building after you three as it is such a fabulous achievement!!!
I agree, what an amazing achievement.. I think either the boiler room or the disabled toilet in the new building should be named in your honour!
