Wow, what a Summer Olympic Games, hey? The Cobnor Activities Centre team was delighted with the results that our ladies and gents achieved during London 2012 – a total of 65 medals. What a coup for the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), British Cycling and the British Canoe Union (BCU), to boot!

Sailing isn’t always about tallyhos and cruising gentle waves with the sunshine on your back, it’s a watersport with its own risks and safety measures. One of Cobnor’s safety measures is the use of a powerboat fleet of Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) to act as safety boats.

Olly Osborne has been selected as a skipper for the Clipper 2011-12 Round the World Yacht Race, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.
The event, which begins in August, is the longest of its kind at 40,000 miles. The fleet, made up of 68ft racing yachts, will stop at 15 ports around the world before arriving back in the UK in July 2012.
