The Charlton Chase is organised by West Sussex Outdoor Education Service. The annual event centres on a 22 km night navigation exercise, up and down the hills of the South Downs behind Seaford College.

Unfortunately, this year’s Charlton Chase was abandoned as a result of hazardous weather conditions but that’s not to say that Cobnor Activities Centre’s teams didn’t have a jolly good time preparing for the event and that the warm grub on offer for those who braved part of the walking adventure wasn’t very much appreciated.

This weekend Cobnor Activities Centre was host to The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Gold Award Ceremony 2011 for West Sussex. Gold achievers from all over the county collected their awards and enjoyed an afternoon of multi-activities, despite the not-so-clement British weather.
