How volunteering helps Cobnor Activities Centre Trust

At Cobnor Activities Centre Trust, volunteering plays a pivotal role in realising our mission. By generously contributing their time and expertise, our volunteers become integral to delivering impactful outdoor, residential, and environmental activities. Through their dedication, we empower young individuals.

As a volunteer, you will contribute o the overarching ethos of CACT, which is to provide young people with invaluable learning experiences. Together, we strive to create an environment where every young person not only participates in these activities but also emerges empowered, equipped to shape their own perspectives and navigate life’s challenges confidently.

Typical volunteer roles could include

  • Adventure Instructors and Supporters: Whether you’re a seasoned sailor, paddler, or outdoor enthusiast with a knack for leading, join us in delivering thrilling outdoor experiences! Your passion and expertise can inspire and guide others in activities like camping, climbing, cycling, campcraft.
  • Supporting People with Diverse Needs: Work alongside our staff to empower individuals with learning and physical disabilities. Contribute your compassion and support during our activities and holiday programmes.
  • Reception and Administration Champions: Dive into the heart of our operations! Assist with phones, bookings, activity information and even support our accounts and finance departments.
  • Fundraising Wizards: Be part of our fundraising efforts! Help organise events and uncover funding opportunities crucial to the growth and success of the Trust.
  • Maintenance Maestros: Help keep our centre in top shape! From cleaning and painting to DIY projects, your hands-on skills ensure our equipment, buildings and grounds remain vibrant. Specialised marine skills are also welcome to maintain our fleet of dinghies and rescue boats.
