Gary took over the helm at Cobnor in January 2013. He has worked in the outdoor education industry for nearly 20 years. His experience covers many disciplines, including instructing in sailing, paddling, powerboating, climbing and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award training. Gary’s two passions are the outdoors and travelling.
Liz has run the office at Cobnor Activities Centre for over 20 years. She is a Practising State Registered Nurse and also sits as a magistrate. She has lived with her ever-growing family in the village of Chidham for many years and is a Governor of Chidham School. Liz is a keen cyclist, both in the UK and overseas.
Miranda grew up in Bosham, dinghy sailing in Chichester harbour. Following a management career in the retail and IT industries, she joined Liz in managing the office at Cobnor 2011. Prior to returning to Bosham in 2003, Miranda lived and worked in Dorking, where she was a school governor at a primary school.
Jane has lived and worked in Chichester Harbour for over half her life and joined the Cobnor team in May 2018. She has been sailing since she was 8 weeks old, when her father took her out in her carrycot on Plymouth Sound. Jane is also a keen cyclist.
Grant’s many years of experience running a caravan site has proved an invaluable addition to the Cobnor team. Grant is willing to turn his hand to anything from checking the electrics to changing the sheets. Grant is kept busy at home with a young toddler, who sets the rules of the household.
Alex re-located to this area from Shropshire, having worked for seven years at an activities centre in Kidderminster. Alex has extensive paddling and climbing experience, including spending time in Nepal. He worked for one year at Cobnor as an Activities Instructor before extending his responsibilities this year and is now splitting his time between maintenance and activities.
Andy has been an activity instructor for over ten years and, as well as the UK, has worked in Spain, France and Mauritius. Andy likes nothing better than to get out on the water - paddling and sailing - and is also a keen mountain biker.
A keen paddler Nick is an all-rounder who is qualified for climbing, paddling, archery and now sailing, as he’s recently succeeded in qualifying as a RYA Dinghy Instructor. Nick can be found in his spare time traversing the country, looking for new spots to paddle.
Johnnie describes himself as an 'Ex-pat Scouser'. He has cooked all his life. Why? Because he loves it. On the rare occasions when Johnnie is not cooking, he is a keen gardener and, in particular, enjoys growing his own vegetables.
