Gary Palmer – Head of Centre

Gary took over the helm at Cobnor in January 2013. He has worked in the outdoor education industry for nearly 20 years. His experience covers many disciplines, including instructing in sailing, paddling, powerboating, climbing and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award training. Gary’s two passions are the outdoors and travelling. 

 

Miranda Powley – Operations Manager

Miranda grew up in Bosham, dinghy sailing in Chichester harbour. Following a management career in the retail and IT industries, she joined Cobnor in 2011.  Prior to returning to Bosham in 2003, Miranda lived and worked in Dorking, where she was a school governor at a primary school.

Roshana Nagi - Senior Activities Instructor 

Roshana has been sailing for 10 years, starting in the harbour at Felpham Sailing Club. Whilst specialising in sailing, Roshana has now worked in the outdoor industry for three years and leads many other activities at Cobnor. She thrives in helping individuals enjoy new experiences in a natural environment, enhancing their personal development. "I love being involved in special projects, reaching out to schools ... and getting more and more kids involved as we go". 

 

Phil Elwood - Activities Instructor 

Phil is a paddler, who has worked in the outdoor industry for the last 8 years and has joined Cobnor as a multi-activity instructor. Having worked in London as a design engineer, he decided to make his hobbies his job! He still supports a local school as a DT club teacher and loves to help young people with their personal development. 

 

Jane Weller - Secretarial Support (Temporary)

Jane has lived and worked in Chichester Harbour for over half her life and joined the Cobnor team in May 2018. She has been sailing since she was 8 weeks old, when her father took her out in her carrycot on Plymouth Sound.  Jane is also a keen cyclist. 

 

Grant Worle – Centre Caretaker

Grant’s many years of experience running a caravan site has proved an invaluable addition to the Cobnor team. Grant is willing to turn his hand to anything from checking the electrics to changing the sheets. Grant is kept busy at home with a young toddler, who sets the rules of the household.
