Powerboating at Cobnor Activities Centre follows the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) syllabus, whether you want to use powerboats for leisure or in connection with another outdoor activity,  
such as sailing, we can help you get those basic skills. 

We are also able to offer 1:1 coaching for all levels.

Powerboat Level 2

This course provides the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. The course may be conducted in a variety of boat types and hulls and the certificate issued will be endorsed appropriately. 12 to 16 year olds will be awarded a Level 2 certificate endorsed. The holder should only use powered craft under the supervision of a responsible adult.

Safety Boat Course

This course introduces the techniques used in powerboats escorting racing fleets of dinghies and windsurfers, providing safety and rescue cover for training fleets and assisting in race management. Techniques for canoes/kayaks and kite surfers will also be discussed.

It is strongly recommended that participants hold a first aid certificate.
